Bike hacking at the Red Bull Basement

On August 23rd, Paloma Oliveira and I coordinated a workshop for the crafting of do-it-yourself bicycle lights, during the Red Bull Basement, a great cultural event curated by Gisela Domschke and hosted by Red Bull Station. These bike lights are made of recycled materials and simple electronic components, and allow the hacker/biker to become more visible at night. Nevertheless, the workshop served as an introduction to electronics for most participants, who for for first time realised electronic devices can be handcrafted and personally designed.

If you are interested in building your own bike light, you can download the manual we have created with instructions and illustrations. Have fun and share your results!

Below are some pictures taken during the workshop. For further information about the event, check out the official website.
